【Features】
A wild mushroom with a green-tinged cap and distinctive cracked, reticulated pattern. The flesh is dense with a firm texture, and cooking enhances its unique umami flavor and aroma. In Yunnan, China, it is known as the “Prince of Mushrooms” and is highly prized.
【Growing Environment】
Grows on the ground in deciduous and mixed forests at altitudes of 1,500?2,800 m. Typically found in clusters during the summer rainy season (July – September).
【Distribution】
China: Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou, etc.
Also found in Europe and North America, but Chinese Aitake is especially valued for culinary use.
【Nutritional Value】
High in protein, low in fat, rich in dietary fiber, B vitamins, potassium, and calcium. May support antioxidant activity, immune function, and digestion.
【Storage Methods】
• Fresh: Refrigerate at 0–4°C and use within a few days
