【Features】
Dark brown with coarse, scaly caps; underside features spiny gills characteristic of the Hydnaceae family. When cooked, it releases a strong, distinctive fragrance and deep umami flavor, earning it the title “King of Mushroom Aroma.” Highly prized in Japan, Yunnan-grown specimens are especially noted for their strong aroma.
【Growing Environment】
Grows on the forest floor of coniferous trees (spruce, fir, larch, etc.) at elevations of 1500 – 3000 m.
Harvest season: summer to autumn (July – September).

Yunnan, Sichuan, and Guizhou provinces, China.
